ABOUT PVRSO
Creating Beautiful Music for Our Community
The Palos Verdes Regional Symphony Orchestra is a community orchestra sponsored by the Palos Verdes Stake of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. The orchestra members come from widely diverse cultural, ethnic, and religious backgrounds. The orchestra exists to provide a setting where musicians of all ages, nationalities, and experience can create beautiful music for the enjoyment of our community.

There are more than fifteen nationalities represented in our membership including Chinese, Japanese, Korean, Thai, Cambodian, Hispanic, Italian, Israeli, Canadian, and European. We have presented concerts at the Armstrong Theater in Torrance, the Cerritos Center for the Performing Arts, Redondo Union High School with Canadian entertainer Norman Foote, and Sunrider International in Torrance. In June 2008, we were thrilled to have performed at the Disney Concert Hall, home of the Los Angeles Philharmonic.

We utilize a unique concept of mentoring where experienced adults share their talents, knowledge, and expertise with younger members. The goal of the orchestra is twofold: 1) to provide a symphonic orchestra setting not offered at local schools and 2) an opportunity for adults to continue along a path of lifelong learning and improvement. It is a wonderfully positive experience for all who are involved.
